Pooja Mallipamula is a writer, actor and stand up comedian from New York. (Well actually, she wasn’t born there, but…)

She’s not a first-generation American nor is she an immigrant completely immersed in traditional Indian values. She was born in India but she moved to America at twelve. This duality of two different cultures introduced conflict as well as synergy during her formative years giving her a multicultural perspective.

Comedy comes from tragedy. She lost her dad at the age of four. Maybe it’s the single mom upbringing that gave her a strong sense of humor.

“I feel guilty loving coloniser land, but I love Paris!”
